Chuck Mussachio Fights Bill Baily At Ballys May 19

Atlantic City, NJ—Light-heavyweight Chuck Mussachio is back in action Saturday evening, May 19 when he takes on Bill Bailey in a scheduled eight-round contest in the Grand Ballroom of Bally’s Atlantic City.

Topping the seven-fight card is a scheduled 10-round junior middleweight contest between Harry Joe Yorgey, of Bridegport, PA, and Jamaal Davis, of Philadelphia, PA. Gofightlive.tv will televise the action.

Mussachio (right), 32, of Wildwood, NJ, will be making his first start since Nov. 19 when he was stopped in the 12th round by Garrett Wilson, of Philadelphia, PA, for Wilson’s USBA cruiserweight title. The fight was up for grabs after 11 rounds with Mussachio ahead on two of the three scorecards.

“I still think about that 12th round,” said Mussachio, who is determined to stay at light-heavyweight (175) rather than cruiserweight (200). “I only weighed 183 against Wilson. I’m a natural 175.”

The Wilson fight was Mussachio’s only bout in the last 17 months. A pro since 2005, he is 17-2-2, 5 K0s.

Bailey, 33, of Bakersfield, CA, has an 11-14 record with 4 knockouts. A pro since 2005, he has toured the United States, fighting in seven different states and Canada. He has traveled from California to Florida, from New York to Nevada, from Washington State to Pennsylvania.

Only one of the 25 men Bailey boxed had a losing record at fight time and seven men he faced were unbeaten. The combined record of Bailey’s 25 foes was 225-36-5 at fight time.

By contrast, Mussachio has boxed once in West Virginia, once in Delaware, once in Pennsylvania and 18 times in New Jersey, his home state. The combined record of his 21 foes was 175-106-23 when he fought them.

The only foe common to both men is Tony Ferrante. Mussachio built a big then, then ran out of steam against Ferrante, surviving the last two rounds to earn a unanimous 10-round decision in 2010 in Atlantic City, one-half hour from where Mussachio lives. Bailey dropped a controversial eight-round majority decision to Ferrante in 2009 in Philadelphia, where Ferrante lives.

Five additional bouts complete the card.
