Mariusz Wach Weighs 245 1/2, McBride 295 for Heavyweight Fight at Mohegan Sun

Uncasville, Conn., (July 28, 2011) – Undefeated heavyweight boxer Mariusz Wach registered the lowest weight of his professional boxing career when he stepped on the scale today at 245.5 pounds for his highly-anticipated, sold out clash with “The Clones Collosus” Kevin McBride tomorrow at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., McBride weighed in at a career-high of 296 pounds, which is 11 pounds heavier than he weighed for his fight with Tomasz Adamek three months ago.

The 6-foot-8 Wach of North Bergen, NJ by way of Krakow, Poland has a record of 24-0 (12 KO), while the 6-foot-6 McBride of Dorcester, Mass., by way of Clones, Ireland has a record of 35-9-1 (29 KO). The vacant WBC International Heavyweight championship will be on the line in the twelve-round matchup, which headlines the “Heat Wave” boxing event presented by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment & Sports and Global Boxing.

On the undercard, Artur Szpilka (6-0, 4 KO) of North Bergen, NJ by way of Wieliczka, Poland weighed 235 pounds for his four-round heavyweight assignment with David Williams (6-4-1, 2 KO) of Philadelphia, Penn.

Both fights will be televised live by TVP in Poland.

Doors open tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m., with the first bout scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
