Luxembourg Boxing Federation Votes in Favor of Licensing Haye vs Chisora Fight

By Johnny Walker

According to a press release from Frank Warren, the promoter of UK heavyweight Dereck “Del Boy” Chisora, the Luxembourg Boxing Federation (LBF) voted today to continue with its licensing of Chisora’s grudge match with fellow Brit David Haye, scheduled for July 14 in London, England.

The vote amongst the LBF’s twelve members was 8-4 in favor of licensing the fight, and was taken in the face of the threatened expulsion of the LBF from the European Boxing Union (EBU) should the bout go ahead under the LBF’s banner.

According to the press release, “the LBF is backing the show along with the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the World Boxing Association (WBA), whose International and Intercontinental titles will be contested, and the promotion will definitely go ahead.”
