Wladimir Klitschko once again expressed disdain and contempt for the cowardly ducking ways of his arch rival David Haye, moments after knocking out the courageous Samuel Peter in Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday night.
“I don’t care about David Haye, I care about the title he holds – WBA,” stated the world’s heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in a post fight television interview. “I wanted to fight him, but this little dog keeps running away.”
In the past 18 months, Haye has used various injuries, Setanta network money woes and supposed hardball negotiation tactics by K2 promotions as ways to avoid boxing Wladimir Klitschko. Despite Haye’s efforts to cancel the fight, ESPN’s Dan Raphael does not believe the double-talking Brit: “I believe David Haye is ducking Wladimir Klitschko,” stated Raphael during ESPN’s Klitschko-Peter telecast.
Wladimir then looked at the television camera and said directly to Haye, “David Haye – you’re a loser. Because you’re not following through with your words. I believe – this is not just the opinion of myself – I believe it’s the opinion of a lot of boxing fans – also in Great Britain.”
Klitschko also remarked that he believes the much-anticipated Wladimir Klitschko vs. David Haye superfight will take place eventually. “There is only one belt left out there that the Klitschko brothers don’t have – the WBA belt that’s currently held by David Haye.”
Haye will box former Olympic gold medalist Audley Harrison later this year in a mismatch bout that has been heavily criticized by fans and media. With his words, Haye has promised to deliver excitement to the heavyweight divison, but this far his actions and deeds have certainly failed to live up to his words and talk.
