Early Fighting Memory: “Streetfighting – kids used to pick on me all the time when I was five, six. (Why?) Who knows. I guess because I was a wuss back then in Puerto Rico [smiles]. I used to get beat up all the time. Ever since my mom passed away when I was nine, and I moved here (to Warminster, PA), my attitude changed. I just changed. Everything changed.”

Favorite Meal: “Spanish rice and beans.”

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: “Twist – both vanilla and chocolate.”

Pre-Fight Feeling: “Never got nervous, that’s for sure. I like one-on-one sports. Wrestling was my thing in high school. Doing that for so long, I never get nervous anymore. Just think…win. Make sure I get my win.”

Greatest Sports Moment: “I would have to say my fight last year on NBC – Luis Rosado. First-round knockout. 2:46. Uppercut then left hook.”

Most Painful Moment: “Against Leon Pearson. That’s when I hurt my right hand. (My) first right hand landed – I just hurt it. Pretty much hard to fight one-handed.”

Favorite Vacation Spot: “Going back to my hometown – Carolinas.”
