Since all three undercard bouts went the distance the national anthems that are sung before the main event didn’t even begin until midnight. The Mexican, Argentinean, and American anthems were sung before the fighter walkouts.

Marcos Maidana (35-3) was the first man to enter the ring and he was greeted with serenade from the fans in attendance. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0) came in second, and he was led into the ring by circus performers, Justin Beiber, and Lil Wayne .

Marcos Maidana blew up nearly twenty pounds overnight since the weight in.

The following is a round by round results for the main event.

Round 1:

Mayweather comes right out to the center of the ring right at Maidana. The crowd is singing very loudly. Maidana is staying out of Mayweather’s range early on. Maidana misses with three wild hooks. Maidana lands a right hand to the body of Mayweather. Mayweather lands a four punch combination on Maidana. Mayweather throws a jab at Maidana. Maidana throws several short body shots on Mayweather. Maidana lands an overhand right. Maidana lands some combinations on Mayweather while his back is against the ropes. Maidana landing several more overhand rights. Maidana landing several more clubbing right hands. Maidana is smothering Mayweather. Both fighters are aldnging several shots on the inside. Mayweather connected with a good left hook. Maidana landed a jab, but may have punched himself out already. 10-9 Maidana.

Round 2:

Maidana waits until the last second before he rises off his stool. Mayweather throws a good jab to the body of Maidana. Mayweather lands a short left hook. Maidana is able to land a few jabs surprisingly. Mayweather connects with a good straight right hand. He later follows it up with a double left hook. Mayweather throws out three quick jabs. Maidana tries to trap Mayweather by the ropes again but Mayweather ties up with Maidana. Maidana lands several hard hooks to the body and smothers Mayweather again. Mayweather connects with a lead right hand, but Mayweather digs two uppercuts into the body of Maidana. Mayweather throws out two jabs to the body of Maidana. Mayweather with a three punch combination to Maidana. This crowd is loud. Maidana is chasing Mayweather around the ring and when Maidana gets close Mayweather pushes him away with a forearm. 10-9 Mayweather.

Round 3:

Maidana comes out looking more confident than before. Maidana is looking to rough up Mayweather. Mayweather lands a check left hook, but Maidana comes back with a body attack. Mayweather’s jabs to the body are effective. Mayweather catches aidana with a quick two punch combination as he comes in. The referee warns Maidana for hitting behind the head. Maidana did not want to touch gloves. Maidana is landing some hard body shots on Mayweather. Maidana is hungry, but his back is against the ropes now. Mayweatherlead right is blocked by Maidana. Mayweather lands a hard lead right hand. Maidana beats up Mayweather again when they get to the ropes. Maidana is throwing everything he has into his body shots on Mayweather. 10-9 Maidana

Round 4:

Maidana comes right out at Mayweather at the start of round four. Mayweather circling away and circles away from Maidana by the ropes. This is turning into a brawl, but the referee warns Maidana only. This could turn into an ugly fight soon. Maidana is tagging the body of Mayweather. Maidana with two more body shots and Mayweather pushes away with his forearm. Mayweather connects with an uppercut to the body. Mayweather has a cut over his eye. Maidana again crowds Mayweather. The crowd is loudly singing again and urging Maidana forward. Mayweather lands a check hook. Maidana is still attacking the body of Mayweather. Mayweather lands a check left hook two times in a row. Mayweather lands a good lead left hook to the body of Maidana. Maidana again crowds Mayweather, but Mayweather holds onto Maidana. 10-9 Mayweather

Round 5:

Very interesting fight so far. Maidana’s pressure is relentless, but he is not landing the hard clean shots that he wants to. Maidana continues to land good body shots on Mayweather, but is still getting countered by harder punches. Mayweather appears frustrated and is not able to get the distance he needs on his counter punches. Maidana digs several more hooks into Mayweather’s body near the end of the round and appears to be very confident. 10-9 Maidana.

Round 6:

Maidana’s pressure has been relentless. He continues to attack the body of and is landing his jabs. Mayweather is having difficulty countering Maidana because Maidana refuses to give Maywweather any space. Maidana is getting caught some hard punches by Mayweather, but Maidana refuses to back off. Maidana gets tagged by hard combinations from Mayweather. Mayweather hits Maidana with a hard straight right hand. Maidana backs Mayweather to the ropes and connects with short right uppercuts. Mayweather lands a looping left hook and an overhand right near the end of the round. 10-9 Mayweather.

Round 7:

There does appear to be a sense of panic in Mayweather’s corner. Maidana backs Mayweather up to the ropes again. Maidana comes in and bangs another hook to the body of Mayweather. Mayweather lands a good combination when he gets some space, and lands a hard straight right hand. Mayweather has the space that he needs to be successful against Maidana. Mayweather connects with a check left hook and follows it with a left hook to the body. Maidana is not doing as well in close as he did in earlier rounds. Maidana attacks the body but Mayweather lands a hard combination upstairs. Mayweather hits Maidana with a double left hook. Mayweather connects with another straight right hand. When the fight is in the center of the ring it greatly advantages Mayweather. The crowd is starting to chant USA. 10-9 Mayweather.

Round 8:

They come forward and tie up almost immediately. Maidana with more digging hooks into the body of Mayweather. Maidana is throwing looping punches towards Mayweather’s head but doesn’t appear to land anything of note. Maidana with a jab to the body. Maidana lands a jab upstairs. Maidana lands a low blow and Mayweather complains to the referee. A right cross lands for Mayweather. Maidana with another right hand to the body of Mayweather. Maidana with two jabs to the face of Mayweather. Mayweather with a good right hook to the body of Maidana. They both land hooks upstairs at the same time. Mayweather is pushing Maidana off of him with his forearm. Maidana catches Mayweather with a hook upstairs. Mayweather with a two punch combination. Mayweather landed the cleaner punches. 10-9 Mayweather

Round 9:

Maidana is stalking Mayweather and Mayweather is trying to stay out of Maidana’s range. Maidana was told by his corner to be dirty before he came out. Mayweather sticks a jab in the face of Maidana. Mayweather tags Maidana with two good right hands upstairs. Mayweather connects with two hard left hooks. The referee is quick to break them up when they get in tight. Maidana lands a surprising jab. Mayweather connects with a lead right hand and then a left hook to the body. A straight right hand by Mayweather clips Maidana. Mayweather switches to southpaw, but he switched back to orthodox. Mayweather connects with another good straight right hand and then a combination to the body of Maidana. Mayweather is backing Maidana up at the end of the round. 10-9 Mayweather.

Round 10:

Mayweather is light on his feet and dances away from the pressure of Maidana. They both exchange good jabs. Mayweather connects with a two punch combination and follows it with a good right to the body. Mayweather is displaying his hand speed and moving away from Maidana. Maidana calls Mayweather forward but Floyd does not answer the call. Maidana lands several hard body shots on Mayweather near the corner. Mayweather comes forward with a lead right hand and has Maidana’s back to the ropes. Maidana charges forward again but Mayweather holds on. Miadana banging several hooks into the body of Mayweather. Maidana’s jabs are landing and he barely misses with a left hook. Mayweather connects with a right to the body and Maidana lands one of his own. Close round, but Mayweather wins it with a straight right at the end of the round. 10-9 Mayweather.

Round 11:

Mayweather throws a jab to the body of Maidana and follows it with a combination upstairs. Mayweather with a right hook to the body of Maidana. Mayweather with a crisp right hand and stays out of Maidana’s range. Maidana counters Mayweather with a jab. Mayweather lands a right cross on Maidana with his back to the ropes. Mayweather is in control and has effectively halted the pressure of Maidana. Miadana connects with a wild overhand right. Mayweather lands a check left hook and then Maidana takes Mayweather down. Mayweather with two straight right hands to Maidana’s chin at the end of the round. 10-9 Mayweather

Round 12:

Maidana needs a knockout to win. Mayweather opens up the final round with a combination to Maidana’s head. The crowd is very loud. Maidana throws and misses with a wild left hook. Mayweather lands two left hands. Mayweather dodges a combination form Maidana and tags him with a combo of his own. Maidana lands a right hook to the body of Mayweather. Maidana lands another right to the body of Mayweather. Maidana is throwing wild looping punches but Mayweather is able to avoid most of them again. Maidana is chasing Mayweather but gets tied up when he gets in close. Mayweather moves Maidana backwards with an overhand right. Mayweather lands a counter right hand near the end of the round. 10-9 Maidana.

The final scores were 114-114, 117-111, and 116-112 for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
