PBC on ESPN Quotes from Erislandy Lara and Jan Zaveck

Erislandy Lara (21-2) and Jan Zaveck (35-3) are set to box each other on November 25th at the Hilaleah Park Racing and Casino in Florida. This card will be broadcast on ESPN and will also feature a bantamweight bout between Emmanuel Rodriguez (13-0) and Elicer Aquino (17-1-1).

They said the following on Monday:

Erislandy Lara

“I’ve worked very hard for this fight. I’ve concentrated very hard during training camp because I know how difficult this fight will be. There’s not much to say now, I’m just thinking about making weight and getting in the ring.

“I’m thrilled to be here in south Florida fighting in front of these great fans. I’m happy to fight for the Cubans and show that we have great boxing fans.

“Zaveck has fought some of the best boxers in the world and I have great respect for him. I’m totally concentrated on my opponent and I want to continue to prove that I am the best 154-pounder in the world.

“I’ve been together with my trainer Ronnie Shields for a long time and we’re ready to implement our gameplan in the ring on Wednesday night.”

Jan Zaveck

“I’m excited to get in the ring and challenge a brilliant champion like Erislandy Lara. I very satisfied with the condition I’m in entering this fight.

“We’re going to show everything we have on Wednesday night and give a great performance. I like Lara as a person and a boxer. Outside of the ring we can be respectful because in the ring we will try to take everything from each other.

“I know that this will be a hard fight, but I’m going to leave it all in the ring and make sure this fight is memorable for everyone watching.”

Abraham and Murray Final Press Conference Quotes

WBO Super Middleweight World Champion Arthur Abraham (43-4) will take on Martin Murray (32-2-1) on Saturday, November 21st and this bout will be televised live on AWE, a Wealth of Entertainment.

They had their final press conference recently and offered the following quotes:

”This has been one of the toughest camps of my career,” said Abraham. ”My coach Ulli Wegner and his assistant Georg Bramowski have pushed me to my limits. It’s been brutal at times, but it will all be worthwhile when my hand is raised on Saturday night. Martin is a good boxer and I expect him to give me a hard fight, but there is no way he is taking my title!”

Murray stated, “We’ve been studying Arthur carefully and I believe I’ve got him beat.” He continued, “He is a great fighter, but he’s not changed his style in years, and in my opinion, he’s not evolved. It’s going to be a tough fight but I know it’s well within me to win. I won’t be leaving Germany without the title!”
A WBA Lightweight title fight between Darleys Perez and Anthony Crolla will also be featured on AWE.

Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna to Take on Ariel Vasquez on December 5th

On Saturday night, December 5th, Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna will take on Ariel Vasquez in the main event of a boxing card that will take place at the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City.

Rising Boxing Promtions and Vincent M. Ponte’s Gulf Stream Promotions are the promoters of the card.
LaManna (18-1) and Vasquez (12-10-2) will meet in the welterweight division. LaManna’s biggest wins of his career came against Ashandi Gibbs and Jamaal Davis. LaManna’s lone loss was to Antoine Douglas, and after that loss LaManna decided to go down to the welterweight division from the middleweight division.

LaManna stated, “I’m excited for the opportunity to headline for the first time in Atlantic City. We are having camp in Teaneck, NJ and I have been training extremely hard. This will be my first official fight at Welterweight limit 147 and I feel really good. I want to thank Vincent M. Ponte of Gulf Stream, everyone at Rising Promotions, the Claridge Hotel, my parents and all the fans for all the help and support for making this event happen.”
The co-feature of the night will be between Anthony “Juice” Young (11-1) and Anthony Prescott (5-7-2).
