Arnaoutis vs Coleman: Crossroads Battle on Hustler Boxing

Posted on 12/02/2009

When Star Boxing’s contender “Mighty” Mike Arnaoutis (22-3-2, 10KO) meets Baltimore’s Tim “Pit Bull” Coleman (16-1-1, 4KO) on Thursday December 3rd in the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center, they will be meeting in one of boxing’s ever so familiar cliché’s; a crossroads battle between a former number one contender, looking to work his way back to the top of the division, and an up and coming prospect looking to add a world class name to his resume. Arnaoutis vs. Coleman is for the vacant USBA light welterweight championship and headlines Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing premiere installment of “Huster Boxing”; a new collaborative series of boxing events throughout the New York City area promoted in association with Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club – NYC.

“Arnaoutis vs. Coleman truly defines the meaning of crossroads battle,” stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. “In one corner you have Mike, an experienced and long time top contender in the light welterweight division and a former WBO NABO and USBA light welterweight champion, who has been featured on such broadcasts as ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights”, Showtime’s, Shobox: The New Generation, and HBO’s Boxing After Dark, looking for a key win that propels him back to the top of his division. In the other corner you have a young, hungry, up and coming prospect looking to make a name for himself by beating a fighter of Mike’s caliber. This essentially is a must win fight, and when you have that much riding on the line you know both guys going to give it their all.”

For the former number one contender Arnaoutis, a win on the nationally televised Versus Network, should point him right back in the direction towards a light welterweight World Championship.

“I’m ready to go,” stated Arnaoutis. “I know Coleman is going to be a tough opponent, but I have had a great training camp, probably the best I have ever had in my entire professional career. Combine that with the atmosphere my Greek fans provide when I fight in New York, and I can promise you that this is going to be a fight you won’t want to miss.”

Coleman is looking to go a perfect 3-0 in 2009 since suffering his lone defeat as a pro, a razor thin decision loss to undefeated James De La Rosa (now 20-0, 12KO) on Showtime’s Showbox: The New Generation.
