Adamek’s Star On The Rise in U.S. and Poland

Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek is becoming a sporting superstar in the U.S. and Poland.

Last week Tomasz flew over to Poland to film a television commercial for the popular Polish beer company Zywiec.

Two weeks ago he attended a music concert in New York City with his wife and two friends, Peter Szymczak and his wife. “The name of the band is Budka Suflera and the show was awesome,” says Adamek’s pal Szymczak, who resides in Bayonne, NJ. “This was a concert at Roseland Ballroom in New York City, I would probably say there was about 2,500 to 3,000 people at the concert. And when Tomasz was introduced and came out on the stage, the crowd started ADAMEK! ADAMEK! chants. He spoke for a couple of minutes and then the band came out and performed.”

“As the concert progressed there were a few chants during the whole show of ADAMEK! ADAMEK! especially by the crowd close to where we sat in the VIP section.”

“Tomasz made nice gesture by autographing several pictures and handing them out to the crowd during the show.”

Adamek is expected to fight his next fight, again at heavyweight, in Newark, NJ in February 2010 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. He hopes to secure a world title shot with WBA titleholder David Haye or one of the Klitschko Brothers in 2010.

Author of “Heavyweight Armageddon: The Tyson-Lewis Championship Battle” was called “A smashing success, one of the two best boxing books I ever read,” by Emanuel Steward.
