Rising Polish boxing sensation, Andrzej Fonfara (13-2-0, 3 Kayos) earned his first professional title belt on Friday by punishing Rockford, IL’s Skylar Thompson (11-4) into submission in the second round of their WBF International Super Middleweight title bout at the UIC Pavilion. From the opening bell, Fonfara began unloading heavy bombs to the face and body of the game Thompson. In the second round, Andrzej landed a huge combination, knocking Skylar to the canvas. Thompson beat the count, but when asked by veteran referee John O’Brien if he wished to continue, Thompson failed to respond, forcing the third man in the ring to waive off the fight.

Other results on the card:

Fres Oquendo (30-5) def. Mark Brown (15-2)
Ivan Popoca (11-0-1) def. Hector Alatorre (15-8)
Tammie Johnson (4-2-2) def. Rita Figueroa (10-1-1)
Ryan Smedick (3-0-1) def. Gabe Morris (1-2-1)
Achour Esho (3-0) def. Dontre King (1-5-1)

The event was promoted by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions. Dominic will resume action at the UIC Pavilion on July 24. For ticket information, visit www.8countproductions.com
