After nearly fourteen years, fifty-three fights, two-hundred and thirty-six rounds in the sport of professional boxing, former cruiserweight/heavyweight contender Brian Minto 42-11 (27 KO’s) has decided to hang up the gloves.

Minto, who hails from Butler, PA, began his journey in the boxing world in November of 2002. He banged out eighteen consecutive victories, with eleven of those wins coming via knockout, before tasting defeat for the first time of his career, by a split decision loss from the hands of the former heavyweight title holder Tony Tubbs.

Throughout his career, Minto, who was considered by most to be a blown up cruiserweight waged whole hearted wars against the likes of Luan Krasniqi, Chris Arreola, Axel Schulz, Marko Huck and Joseph Parker as well as many more ring warriors. Some scraps he lost, some fights he won, but, he proved for the most part that big bangs do come in small packages.

This past September 17th at Kelly Automotive Park, in his hometown of Butler, PA, forty-one year old Minto put “The Beast” to rest by defeating journeyman Andras Csomor 12-12-1 (14 KO’s) via fourth round TKO, ending his career on a high note.

In this exclusive interview conducted by Boxing Insider’s, “Big Dog” Benny Henderson Jr. Brian Minto chats with The Big Dog Podcast Show, speaking on his retirement, reflecting back on his long fighting career, as well as giving his thoughts on the heavyweight division and more.
