Showtime’s card featured two top ranked Puerto Rican prospects Jonathan Gonzalez and Thomas Dulorme from Santa Ynez, California. Jonathan Gonzalez took on the tough veteran and Youngstown, Ohio native Billy Lyell. It was a closer fight than anticipated, and Gonzalez and Lyell fought and had a lot of close rounds. Gonzalez landed the harder shots in the fight, but Lyell made a game of it and stayed aggressive despite being tagged with hard body shots. If Lyell had a little more power, he might have won, but his shots were not affecting Gonzalez. Gonzalez won a hard fought decision victory.
Thomas Dulorme took on Aris Ambriz in the main event of tonight. Aris Ambriz jumped up from the junior welterweight division to take on the welterweight uber prospects Thomas Dulorme, but he probably should have stayed in the junior welterweight division. Thomas Dulorme pounded Ambriz and knocked him down twice in the first round. The referee wisely stopped the fight the second time Ambriz went down as he was clearly outmatched in the ring with Dulorme. Hopefully Dulorme takes a step up in competition in his next fight.

Jonathan Gonzalez (14-0) vs. Billy Lyell (24-10); Junior Middleweight
Round 1:
Gonzalez and Lyell come out to the center of the ring, and it is obvious that Gonzalez has the height advantage. Gonzalez lands an early jab left hook combination. Lyell jabs to the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez attacks the body of Lyell with hooks. Lyell throws out a head body combination, and throws hard hooks to the body. Gonzalez sticks another jab in the face of Lyell. Lyell throws out a left hook at the guard of Gonzalez. Lyell comes forward with a double jab hook tho the body ocombination. A straight right hand connects for Gonzalez. Lyell lands a stiff jab that snaps the neck of Gonzalez. Lyell partially lands a lead left hook. Lyell comes forward with a three punch combination, and Gonzalez attacks the body in response, but Lyell lands a hard right hook upstairs. Lyell lands another nice left hook to the temple of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a right and a left hook to the body of Lyell, and Gonzalez lands a good left hook near the end of the round. 10-9 round for Lyell.
Round 2:
Lyell slips a jab from Gonzalez. Gonzalez connects with two hooks to the body of Lyell. Gonzalez lands a quick jab, and follows it with a jab to the body of Lyell. Gonzalez lands a hard right uppercut to the body of Lyell. Lyell comes forward and connects with some jabs to the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a decent right uppercut to the body of Lyell, and some left hooks sneak through the defense of Lyell. Gonzalez lands a good double left hook to the head and body of Lyell. Lyell throws two consecutive right hands at the guard of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a solid left hook, and Lyell answers with hooks to the body. Lyell lands a good jab and right hook, and Gonzalez lands a stiff combination from the pocket. Gonzalez connects with another double left hook. A straight right hand lands for Gonzalez, and Lyell connects with a good right hook. Gonzalez lands a good straight right hand a left hook near the end of the round. 10-9 round for Gonzalez.
Round 3:
Gonzalez barely misses with a two punch combination, but lands a stiff jab as a follow up. Gonzalez gets warned for a low blow by the referee. Lyell comes forward with three jabs in a row. Lyell connects with a good left hook and a stiff right hook. A right from Gonzalez is partially blocked. Lyell bangs a two puch combination at the defense of Gonzalez. Gonzalez connects with another double left hook, focusing on the body of Lyell. Lyell attacks with a two punch combination and a hook to the body. Gonzalez continues his assault on the body of Lyell. Gonzalez lands a jab and some more hooks to the body. Lyell and Gonzalez are exchanging body blows in tight by the center of the ring. Lyell sneaks in a decent left hook near the end of the round. It was a close round, but 10-9 for Gonzalez.
Round 4:
Lyell lands an early jab to the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez catches Lyell with a check left hook, and partially lands a straight right. Lyell misses with a double jab. Gonzalez lands a stiff left hook, and pushes Lyell back with uppercuts to the body and guard of Lyell. Lyell comes forward with a two punch combination and lands a straight left hand. Gonzalez lands another hard left hook upstairs. Gonzalez throws two more uppercuts to the body of Lyell. Lyell is staying busy with his jab but is unable to get past the guard of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a decent jab. A straight right hand finds it’s home for Lyell. Gonzalez lands a good left hook to the body, and Lyell answers with a hook to the body in return. Lyell throws a three punch combination at the guard of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands another good left hook as Lyell comes in. Lyell lands a good right hand near the end of the round. Another close one, 10-9 for Lyell.
Round 5:
Gonzalez comes forward with a two punch combination and lands an early jab. Lyell misses with a double jab to the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez is circling to the left of Lyell. Gonzalez lands a sort left hook upstairs. Lyell bangs another jab at the guard of Gonzalez. Lyell lands a left hook to the body, and Gonzalez connects with three punches upstairs. Gonzalez lands a good right hook upstairs and a left hook downstairs. Gonzalez lands another stiff jab, and a good left hook. Lyell connects with a good right hand upstairs. Lyell barely misses with a right uppercut. Gonzalez lands a good right hook upstairs. Gonzalez lands a short left hook, and gets caught with a straight right hand. Gonzalez continues to attack the body of Lyell, and lands another stiff jab that snaps the head of Lyell. 10-9 round for Gonzalez.
Round 6:
Lyell lands a jab to the body, and Gonzalez answers with a hook upstairs. Gonzalez connects with a decent left uppercut to the chin of Lyell. Gonzalez nips Lyell with a right hook upstairs. Lyell bangs more jabs at the guard of Gonzalez. Gonzalez connects with a straight right hand, and barely misses with a jab. Gonzalez lands a good, thudding, combination. Lyell barely misses with an overhand right. Gonzalez and Lyell trade straight right hands. They exchange body blows in close, and Lyell bangs two jabs at the defense of Gonzalez. Gonzalez partially lands three uppercuts. They both land jabs at the same time. Gonzalez connects with a two punch combination and a good hook to the body. Gonzalez connects with a good straight right hand, and continues his assault with uppercuts. Gonzalez is starting to land harder and cleaner shots near the end of the round, but a right hand from Lyell staggers Gonzalez momentarily. Good right hand form Lyell near the end of the round, but Gonzalez controlled the majority of the round. 10-9 for Gonzalez.
Round 7:
Gonzalez continues his assaults with uppercuts, landing some to the body and some to the chin. Gonzalez lands a good left hook to the body, and Lyell answers with a decent left hook upstairs. A hard straight right hand and a hook lands for Gonzalez. Lyell sticks Gonzalez with a right hook. Gonzalez stays stead with his attack to the body, using mainly uppercuts. AN overhand right from Lyell is partially blocked. Gonzalez connects with a good straight right hand. A jab connects from Gonzalez. A hard left hook lands for Gonzalez that visibility hurts Lyell. Gonzalez tags Lyell with a check left hook, and lands a good left uppercut straight right hand combination. Lyell lands a decent right hook. Lyell lands a lunging jab. Gonzalez connects with a straight right hand left uppercut combination, and Lyell lands a left hook near the end of the round. 10-9 round for Gonzalez.
Round 8:
Lyell comes forward with an early jab to the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez paws two jabs , and lands a decent left uppercut to the chin of Lyell. Gonzalez connects with a decent combination, but Lyell lands a right hand in the middle of it. Lyell connects with a left hook upstairs. Lyell comes forward with three jabs, and slips a straight right hand from Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a good left hook to the body of Lyell, and Lyell answers with body shots of his own. Gonzalez connects with a straight right hand to the body of Lyell, and a decent right hand uppercut on Lyell. Lyell lands a decent jab. Lyell is starting to look a little fatigued. Lyell lands two hooks to the body of Gonzalez. Lyell and Gonzalez land jabs at the same time, and Lyell lands a decent left hook upstairs. They both land left hooks at the same time. Lyell comes forward and lands a quick jab. Lyell connects with a right hand upstairs. 10-9 round for Lyell.
Round 9:
Lyell bangs two more jabs at the guard of Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a jab of his own, and barely misses with a straight right hand. Lyell misses with a jab, and gets stung with a check left hook from Gonzalez. Gonzalez comes forward with a three punch combination that partially lands. Lyell lands a good left hook upstairs on Gonzalez. Gonzalez lands a four punch combination upstairs, and stabs a jab at the body of Lyell. Lyell lands a good double right hand to the body and head of Gonzalez. Lyell lands a good jab, and circles away from Gonzalez. Gonzalez barely misses with a straight right hand and a two punch combination. Lyell connects with a good body shot and hook upstairs. Gonzalez stabs another jab at the body of Lyell, but eats a straight right hand form Lyell. Lyell connects with another straight right hand. Lyell stabs a right hand in the body of Gonzalez. Gonzalez misses with another two punch combination. 10-9 round for Lyell.
Round 10:
Lyell and Gonzalez touches gloves at the beginning of the last round. Lyell comes forward with a jab to the body of Gonzalez. They exchanges and land combinations near the center of the ring. Gonzalez lands a good right hand a multi punch combination near the center of the ring. Gonzalez barely misses with a jab, but catches Lyell with a hard right hand as he comes in. Lyell bangs a right hand at the defense of Gonzalez. Lyell misses with a two punch combination, but lands a fluch hook to the temple of Gonzalez. Gonzalez attacks the body of Lyell, and lands a jab, and a good left uppercut. Gonzalez connects with another left hook, and follows up a combination with a right hook that lands. Gonzalez lands a good counter right hand after a combination attack by Lyell. Gonzalez lands a good left uppercut right hook combination. Gonzalez and Lyell exchange good hooks, and Gonzalez may have gotten the better of Gonzalez. Lyell pushes Gonzalez after they clinch, and they battle it out as the final bell rings. 10-9 round for Gonzalez.

Thomas Dulorme (13-0) vs. Aris Ambriz (16-2-1); Welterweight
Round 1:
Dulorme and Ambriz come out to the center of the ring and exchange early jabs. Dulorme lands a left hook and comes forward with a combination. They clinch near the center of the ring, and the referee seperates them. Ambriz throws out two jabs to try and find his range. Dulorme lands a straight right hand. Dulorme connects with uppercuts to the body of Ambriz. Dulorme lands a jab and knocks Ambriz backwards. Dulorme barely misses with a hard right hand. Dulorme connects with an uppercut and a hook upstairs. Referee warns Ambriz for a low blow. Dulorme lands two hard and beautiful left hooks and Ambriz falls straight to his back. Ambriz looks wobbly, and eats more hooks from Dulorme as he goes down after a vicious straight right hand connects. The referee wisely stops the fight as Thomas Dulorme quickly disposes of Aris Ambriz.
