Mayweather Miami Quotes

Posted on 02/07/2010

Mayweather was down in Miami last week taking softball questions from the NFL media. Floyd was able to speak unchallenged…

Floyd: “First they say I’m ducking everybody. Like I say, line ’em up.”

Floyd: “I like to take chances baby.”

Floyd: “I’m in the hurt business. I’m dishin’ out ass whoopins. But I ain’t takin’ ’em.”

Floyd: “How can (Pacquiao) be indestructible when you have three losses. He’s been knocked out three times.”

(NFL media reply) This is the new Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd: “The new one that don’t want to take a test.”

Floyd: “They want to see someone knock me off. But it’s not possible.”

Floyd: “All roads lead to Floyd Mayweather. I don’t need Manny Pacquiao.”

Floyd: “I’m a businessman. With or without him, I’m gonna make $100 million for two or three fights.”

Floyd: “I respect (Mosley). He’s been a helluva guy. If he’s Bernard Hopkins’ puppet, I understand. He didn’t really want to do that (challenge him after Marquez fight on HBO). He’s a gentleman. I like Shane.”

Floyd: “Floyd Mayweather, Al Haymon, Leonard Ellerbe – we created that show (24/7).”

Here are some questions we wish the NFL media would have asked…

Question: Do you take Xylocaine and would you consider that an illegal PED?

Question: Have you contacted and requested the Nevada Commission change it’s drug testing protocol – or are your personal demands more important than Nevada’s?

Question: When did you first decide to be a pioneer about changing drug testing protocol in boxing and what inspired this decision?

Question: How do you know the Philippines makes the best PEDs?

Question: You said you like to take chances – why didn’t you take a chance with Margarito, Cotto in 2008 and Pacquiao?

Question: How do you feel about being sued by Manny Pacquiao for slander, libel and defamation?

Question: Have you taken any actions to enforce random drug testing for other title fights besides your own?

Question: Did you use the steroids blood test as a way to duck Manny Pacquiao because he might knock you out?

Question: Did HBO and Golden Boy apply extreme pressure for you to sign the contract? And why did you delay signing?

Question: You called Shane a gentleman and negotiations are said to have gone very cordially. What kind of fight can we expect on May 1 if you two are on such good terms?
