Miguel Cotto vs Ricardo Mayorga To Be Announced Next Week

NEW YORK, NY (January 13, 2011) – NEVER say never! Boxing’s most anticipated matchup – BOB ARUM and DON KING – will host a New York news conference luncheon announcing their first co-promotion in five years, Next Wednesday! January 19, at B.B. King’s Blues Club & Grill in Times Square (237 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).

Arum and King will be announcing a pay-per-view extravaganza, headlined by World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight champion MIGUEL COTTO defending his world title against two-division world champion RICARDO MAYORGA, Saturday, March 12, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nev. It will be produced and distributed Live on SHOWTIME PPV. Joining Cotto and Mayorga at the news conference will be former WBA super welterweight champion and future rabbi YURI FOREMAN, his opponent, Top-10 contender PAWEL WOLAK, World Boxing Council (WBC) female super welterweight champion CHRISTY MARTIN, who will be featured on the pay-per-view broadcast going for her landmark 50th professional victory, her attorney GLORIA ALLRED, and KEN HERSHMAN, Executive Vice President and General Manager, SHOWTIME Sports®.

Cotto vs. Mayorga will be promoted by Top Rank, in association with Cotto Promotions, Don King Productions, Tecate and MGM Grand, and produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV®
