When you are trying to stick to a healthy diet and personal fitness regiment, it can sometimes be hard to fight off those late-night sweet cravings. This is especially true for those individuals who have a sweet tooth. Giving up sweets is a lot harder when you are so used to eating them all of the time. It’s okay to indulge in a tasty treat now and again, but when you reach for a bowl of ice cream night after night you are basically sabotaging your weight loss success. Thankfully, there are a variety of yummy and healthy snacks that you can buy or make in the comfort of your own home. They will satisfy your sweet craving, and they won’t affect your waistline!

Frozen Yogurt — If you’re the kind of person who likes to indulge in ice cream, piled high in a bowl and topped with chocolate fudge, then considering trying some frozen yogurt the next time your sweet craving hits. Frozen yogurt is not only a lot healthier, but it also provides your body with a good amount of calcium. It has the same consistency as ice cream, which makes it the perfect snack substitute.

Frozen Fruit — Another way to satisfy your sweet craving is by stocking your freezer with fruit. When you get a craving for a frozen treat, instead of reaching for a Popsicle you can have some frozen fruit. Frozen fruit is a great way to cool off on a hot day, yet it doesn’t have any preservatives or manufactured ingredients.

It’s a lot better for you and contains plenty of antioxidants that are good for your body. It’s a guilt-free way to satisfy your chocolate craving.

Warm Peaches — Peaches are extremely tasty and sweet, which makes them the perfect healthy snack for sweet addicts. If you are in the mood for a warm and tasty treat, then heat them up in a bowl and top them off with some low-fat whipped cream. It’s like eating pie without the fattening crust!

Dried Fruit — Instead of reaching for a bag of hard candy, try some dried fruit instead. Dried apricots and mango have a sweet and savory flavor that can satisfy any sweet tooth. You can even find dried fruit snack mixes, combined with fruits and nuts for energizing pre-workout treat.
