BRAWL IN THE FALL MMA EXTRAVAGANZA THIS SATURDAY AT MEADOW BROOK MUSIC FESTIVAL ROCHESTER HILLS, MICHIGAN

This Saturday, September 15, promoter Joseph Donofrio of Donofrio Entertainment will return to the Meadow Brook Music Festival in Rochester Hills, Michigan, for his annual “BRAWL IN THE FALL” outdoor mixed-martial-arts festivals.

The night’s five-round main event will feature Bay City Michigan’s Charlie Cosens (14-2) defending his Impact Fight League 185-lb Middleweight Championship against the more experienced Erick Lozano (18-2) of Holland, Michigan.

Cosens is the owner and head coach of Cosens MMA Gym in Saginaw and has spent time training in Thailand. The colorful Lozano is known for his dangerous right-hand punch.

And in a very special middleweight grudge-match co-feature loaded with sub-plots and high drama, Gordon “Shotgun” Shell will face off against the man with whom he formerly co-owned the Four Aces Fight Club gym in Clinton Township, Gary Palmer.

Shell and Palmer have fallen out as business partners and friends and will look to settle their differences the way they know best. 42-year-old Shell, a melanoma survivor, specializes in Inshinryu Karate and freestyle wrestling. 41-year-old Palmer is a shoot-fighting expert.

In addition, Donofrio and Shell have partnered up to donate a large portion of ticket sales to the Michigan Humane Society and the Detroit Dog Rescue, who help rescue stray, abandoned, abused and rejected dogs of Detroit. A film crew making a documentary film about Shell and his dog rescuing efforts will be filming at cageside.

Topping the undercard will be a battle for Midwestern supremacy in the 205-lb light heavyweight division, as current IFL Champion and #2-rated Victor Jones of Midwest American Muscle MMA in Grand Rapids will face former champion and currently #1-rated Shamir Garcia of Cooper’s Gym in Detroit.

The three-round battle will not be for the championship, but rather an old-fashioned brawl to determine the true #1 at light heavyweight in the Midwest.

And in a Women’s 125-lb Super-Flyweight Impact Fight League Championship battle, Yolanda Gonzalez of Soldados MMA and Boxing in Lansing will face Crystal Ceasar of Titan MMA in Cadillac, Michigan.

Both ladies are proven stand-up fighters and their five-round match-up has guaranteed excitement written all over it.

The rest of the undercard, nine more bouts are scheduled, will feature many of the area’s best MMA fighters in competitive match-ups.

The Garcia vs. Jones fight will be between the two best light heavyweights in the entire Midwest and Gordon Shell’s fight against his former business partner is so intriguing they’re making a movie about it. The undercard is sensational. These annual shows at Meadow Brook are always unforgettable and this year is no exception.”
