Source: Aydin Ready For Berto, Signs Contract

Posted on 01/12/2011

Selcuk Aydin is ready for Andre Berto. Whether Al Haymon and Andre Berto are confident enough to deal with the hard-hitting Turkish warrior is not known for certain.

It’s been reported that Haymon, who is in desperate trouble as an advisor after the losses of Paul Williams, Chris Arreola, Danny Jacobs and the cowardice of Floyd Mayweather,  prefers to select the much safer Randall Bailey as Andre Berto’s next opponent, which apparently HBO will oblige and buy. Of course, if this occurs, the WBC will have to follow it’s own rules and be forced to strip Berto of his WBC title. Recently, Berto has been ordererd to face the mandatory challenger Aydin or be stripped of the belt he won in 2008 vs. Miguel Rodriguez.

The WBC did not return inquiries about this matter though a source close to Aydin revealed this:

“I spoke with Selcuk yesterday. He said he signed the contract to fight against Andre Berto. So, he is ready to fight now. He trains in his city, Trabzon. Trabzon is in the Black Sea part of Turkey. Selcuk does not know anythink about Andre Berto – Randall Bailey negotiations. In his contract which he signed, he may fight on Solis – Klitschko undercard if Berto vacates his title or is stripped from WBC. If Selcuk Aydin – Andre Berto fight happens, it will be in April, in America. Selcuk says to me 2011 will be my year.”
