Interview with Ziggy Rozalski
April 22nd, 2008
By Scoop Malinowski
Promoter/Manager Ziggy Rozalski speaks about Tomasz Adamek’s TKO 7 win over O’Neil Bell in Saturday’s IBF Cruiserweight eliminator in Katowice, Poland:
Boxinginsider.com: Tell us about Adamek’s performance.
Ziggy Rozalski: Adamek was just too good. He boxed him, just boxed him. Stepped to the side. O’Neil Bell wanted to slug but Adamek wouldn’t slug. Tomasz would hit him and step to the side. After a few rounds Bell was hopeless, without hope. He had no answer for it. It was very impressive, one of Tomasz’s best performances. Because he hardly got hit. He moved back, stepped aside and gave Bell a beating. He did a good job with his jab and right hand.
Boxinginsider.com: How surprised were you and Adamek when you saw Bell quit?
Ziggy Rozalski: I was shocked. I saw he was tired, taking a lot of beating but didn’t think he would quit. Tomasz was shocked too.
Boxinginsider.com: Was there any moments of danger for Adamek?
Ziggy Rozalski: No, not for Tomasz. Tomasz knocked him down in the first round but he got up. Bell was very confident. Bell is very good. Me myself before it started I thought it was a 50/50 fight. Bell tried but whatever he tried nothing worked. Tomasz just frustrated him.
Boxinginsider.com: Closing comments?
Ziggy Rozalski: It was a great performance. He was in great shape. He just made the guy quit because he threw so many punches at him. Now Tomasz is #1 contender for IBF against Cunningham.
Stay tuned: We will speak with Adamek next week when he arrives to New Jersey.
