Floyd Money Mayweather claims he has not received a $65 million offer to box Manny Pacquiao to Fighthype.com and Ben Thompson.

“If it didn’t come from Al Haymon’s mouth, you know it’s some bullshit…When it comes to business, Al Haymon’s the best…Did they offer me $65 million? Absolutely not! Absolutely not! Bob Arum has not spoken to Al Haymon at all. Bob Arum is not even on the level of an Al Haymon. Al Haymon does not believe in getting fighters, making a ton of money off of them, and if a fighter goes broke, don’t care nothing about them. I can tell you this much: Al Haymon has set Floyd Mayweather up to where I’m set for the rest of my life. I don’t know what nobody else can say but everything I have is paid for and I’m set for the rest of my life,” Mayweather said this week to Ben Thompson.

“If they want to make a deal, they know to go to Al Haymon for the deal. Did they offer me $65 million? No.”

What’s interesting is that Floyd Money Mayweather does not show much enthusiasm for this $65 million offer, nor does he sound interested to see if the $65 million offer is genuinely valid. Wouldn’t you expect Floyd Money Mayweather to say, “If they’re offering me $65 million to fight Pacquiao, Al, pick up the phone and tell them to send the contract details over.”

And it just doesn’t make logical sense that Floyd Money Mayweather would be stonewalling a potential $65 million offer does it?

Well, yes it does. If you know  you are going to get brutally beaten up and knocked out cold for that $65 million. And all future negotiating leverage will be gone forever.

Rumors persist that Mayweather is going to be ordered by his boss and “Go to guy” to box Victor Ortiz in September for a LOT LESS than $65 million.

Update: Mere minutes after this article was posted, ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Victor Ortiz, Floyd Mayweather and Golden Boy confirmed that Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz has officially been scheduled for September 17.
