Tuesday, it was announced that the IBF super middleweight title eliminator between Adonis “Superman” Stevenson and Donovan “Da Bomb” George was officially rescheduled to Friday, October 12 at the Bell Centre in Montréal.

Originally set to take place August 11 on Showtime as the co-feature to Jean Pascal’s return against Tavoris Cloud, an injury suffered by Pascal postponed the entire show. Acting fast, Yvon Michel and Leon Margules (the promoters of Stevenson and George, respectively) quickly made a deal to move Stevenson/George back only a week, securing a headlining spot for the clash August 17 at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK for the season finale of ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

Then, Stevenson injured his left hand.

Once again, the fight was off.

George kept his spot on the card, staying busy with a sixth round stoppage over the little-known Dionisio Miranda of Columbia.

Now for a third time, the fight is on. Stevenson/George will headline Groupe Yvon Michel’s first gala of the fall in its popular “Fast and Furious” series, and will be televised live in the United States on WealthTV.

“We are particularly pleased to resume our activities with this improved series of Fast & Furious, making it even more accessible to fans in a great atmosphere, as well as providing great opportunities for young GYM prospects who have bright futures,” said Yvon Michel in the presser.

“We are also proud of the importance this season’s first main event, matching Adonis “Superman” Stevenson and Don “Da Bomb” George in a fight that will set the tone for an especially crucial year for our boxers.”

The undercard will feature David Lemieux, Eleider Alvarez, Oscar Rivas, Didier Bence, and Antonin Decarie in action, all against opposition TBA.

Additionally, “The Brazilian Rocky” Michael Oliveira will take on Nicolas Barrales in a scheduled 10-rounder. Oliveira looks to bounce back from his shocking upset loss to Acelino “Popo” Freitas back in June.
