George Foreman called Lennox Lewis the greatest heavyweight champion in boxing history after Lewis destroyed Mike Tyson in 2002. “Lennox is beyond doubt the greatest heavyweight of all time. He is not second any more. He is there at the top of the tree,” declared Foreman with no hint of doubt in his voice. “He reminded me of a young George Foreman and an elusive Muhammad Ali. He has everything you want in a fighter.”
Recently I had the pleasure to interview newly crowned WBC Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko and he too had some strong praise for Lewis, when asked to name the toughest man he ever faced, Vitali responded, “Lennox Lewis. My personal opinion – he’s the strongest fighter in the whole history of boxing. He’s the strongest heavyweight. And I’m very appreciative for him. He give me a chance to prove my skills against strongest fighter in history.”
The credible opinions of George Foreman and Vitali Klitschko are not easy to refute or disagree with, are they?
