Bert Randolph Sugar is at it again. One of boxing’s most recognizable personalities has penned his latest book titled “Bert Sugar ON BOXING.”

Here’s what they’re saying about “Bert Sugar ON BOXING.”

“Bert Sugar ON BOXING picks up where A.J. Leibling’s The Sweet Science left off.” -Allen Barra, The Wall Street Journal

“This is Bert Sugar’s best book yet. He puts you in the arena without missing a beat.” -Bud Greenspan, Emmy Award winning filmmaker

“If you are a smart boxing fan, read this book. It will make you even smarter.” -Bill Gallo, Associate Sports Editor, New York Daily News

Bert Sugar ON BOXING is published by Lyons Press and is available by calling (203) 458-4500. It is available at Amazon.com, Borders.com and Barnes&Noble.com.

Q&A Bert Sugar:
Boxing historian Bert Randolph Sugar has just completed his latest book “Bert Sugar On Boxing” from Lyons Press ( go to Amazon.com or call 203-458-4500 ). Here’s a quick Q&A with the former editor of The Ring, Boxing Illustrated and Fight Game.

Boxinginsider.com: How do you see the state of the game today?

Burt Sugar: “Boxing is on the rebound, except for the obvious, the heavyweight division. If the heavyweight division was stock, I’d sell it short. But there are many fighters out there today who are very good and exciting, as witnessed last Saturday night (Mesi-Jirov, Wright-Mosley).”

Boxinginsider.com: Which boxers do you like to watch today?

Burt Sugar: “Floyd Mayweather. Roy Jones Jr. And Marco Antonio Barrera - though he’s on the downside.

Boxinginsider.com: The era of Oscar, Lennox, Tyson, Holyfield and Jones is coming to a close soon. Who do you see as the next era of superstars?

Burt Sugar: “Wait till the Olympics are over in a few months, that’s where they’re gonna come from.”

Boxinginsider.com: De La Hoya or Hopkins?

Burt Sugar: “I’ll tell you after June 5th. If De La Hoya can readily handle a middleweight, in Sturm, and if Hopkins at 39 is still Hopkins at any age. Or is the sand coming down in his hourglass? He’s going to start slowing down eventually.”

Boxinginsider.com: Roy Jones rematch with Antonio Tarver?

Burt Sugar: “Roy Jones should win. He won’t have that weight problem anymore. He won’t look ordinary this time. I think this is one he wants.”

Boxinginsider.com: Now that Lennox has retired, who do you see as possibly the next dominant heavyweight champ?

Burt Sugar: “James Toney. The only one that has any possibility of being dominant…I’m just responding to your word dominant.”
